Our History

Dr. Drew Kaiser of the Katherine Road Animal Hospital, small animal and exotic veterinarian, began receiving a growing number of injured raptors brought in by the Army Corp of Engineers, Conservation Department officials and area residents. He became fascinated with these majestic birds, and concerned that his hospital lacked complete facilities necessary to provide full rehabilitation. This led him to found the Raptor Rehabilitation Center in 1998 and to construct it's flight complex, a fifty-foot long building that allows these large birds the space to exercise their wings until they are strong enough to be released into their natural habitat.
